Homework Policy
Homework is checked on a regular basis. Each homework has a maiximum value of 2 points. Students must show all work on homework assignments to receive full credit. At the end of the marking period the total number of assignments times 2 determines the maximum possible points a student can attain. The homework grade is determined by totaling the students points and then dividing by the maximum possible points. For example, if there are 20 assignments then the maximum number of points is 20 x 2 = 40. Therefore, if a student has 32 out of 40 points their homework grade is 32/40 = 80.
*Note: Unexcused absences will result in a grade of zero. Extenuating circumstances may be taken into consideration on an individual basis.
Test Policy
Tests will consist of problems similar to ones given on previous tests, previous quizzes, homeworks, and class problems. Absence prior to a test does not excuse the student from taking the test. If a student is absent for a test, they are must take the test upon his/her return to school. (Note: The student is also responsible to get classwork missed during the absence.) If a student is absent for an extended time before a test, the student will need to meet with me regarding make-up work and a make-up assessment.
*Note: Unexcused absences will result in a grade of zero. Extenuating circumstances may be taken into consideration on an individual basis.
